Some difficult words and their easy ways to understand:-

 

 

 

Chapter 1 - WHAT I KNOW

present - gift
glove -  a covering for the hand made with a serrate sheath for each finger and for the thumb.


Chapter 2 - WHAT I THINK I REMEMBER

whining - to utter a low, usually nasal, complaining cry or sound, as from uneasiness, discontent, peevishness, etc.: The puppies were whining from hunger.
pail - a bucket
yelling - to cry out or speak with a strong, loud, clear sound.
taunt - to reproach in a sarcastic, insulting or jeering manner; mock.
jerk - a spasmodic, usually involuntary, muscular movement, as the reflex action of pulling the hand away from a flame.


Chapter 3 - WHAT THEY TOLD ME


writhing - like a snake movement
hopper - a mounted police officer
trooper - a cavalry horse.



Chapter 4 - WHEN GLOVES EXPLODE


clog - to hinder or obstruct with thick or sticky matter; choke up.
hoop - a circular band or ring of metal, wood or other stiff material.
mess - a dirty, untidy or disordered condition.


Chapter 5 - WHEN PEOPLE EXPLODE


juvenile - immature, childish, a young person; youth.
stardom - the world or class of professional stars, as of the stage.
macabre - gruesome or horrifying; ghastly; horrible.
aggressiveness - characterized by or tending toward unprovoked offensives, attacks, invasions, or the like; militantly forward or menacing.
fluorescent - strikingly bright, vivid or glowing.
linoleum - a hard,  washable floor covering formed by coating burlap or canvas with linseed oil, powdered cork, and rosin, and adding pigments to create the desired colors and patterns.
lethal - deadly, fetal, mortal.
supple - make pliant and flexible.
head-butted - a strike with the head, typically involving the use of robust parts of the cranium as areas of impact
lean - thin, meager, meager, skinny, spare, gaunt, scraggy, slender, slim, lank, poor, scrawny-verb: incline, rest, tilt.

Chapter 6 - TOUCHSTONES


groggy - a dazed and staggering state caused by alcohol.
sigh - breath, moan, respire.
sophomore - a second year college or high school student.
whack o - a person who is regarding as mad.
abandonment - the act of giving something up


Chapter 7 - CHANGING LANES


antidepressants -  any of a class of drugs used to treat depression; often have undesirable side effects.
appetite - a natural desire to satisfy a bodily need.
shimmy shammy - secretive, illicit activity or favor trading.
maiden - a girl or young woman, unmarried.


Chapter 8 - BITING THE GORILLA 

 

pounding -  repeated and heavy striking or hitting of someone or something.
whacked-out - to strike (someone or something) with a sharp blow; slap.
pharmaceuticals -  a compound manufactured for use as a medicinal drugs; companies manufacturing medicinal drugs.
whip -  a strip of leather or length of cord fastened to a handle, used for flogging or beating a person or for urging on an animal.
 institutionalized - institutionalized is a studio album by rapper Ras Kass.



Chapter 9 - LEARNING TO WADE

sarcasm - irony
expel - force someone to leave a place.
assassins - a murderer of an important person in a surprise attack for political or religious reason.
insane - mad, crazy.
redemption - the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil.
